Weather Thwarts Water Intake Completion

McNally Strives for $250,000 Bonus

Even though the permit deadline was October 18th, the weather did not cooperate and work on the new water intake project in Southampton was forced to hault.

Dave Burnside, Engineering Services for the Town of Saugeen Shores, explained that, "Almost all the work is complete.  There are a couple of loads of rock yet to be taken out and the fish habitats have to be completed.

Unfortunately, the lake has been rolling for the past few days and there was no way the McNally equipment could go out.  They are going to try their best to finish up but it is all weather dependent."

The company also wants to complete the project in order to qualify for the $250,000 incentive that is time-sensitive.  "The work has to be completed within the construction year or the incentive is not paid," added Burnside.
