Volunteer Awards

Town Council

(continued)

Several volunteer award winners were recognized Monday night at Saugeen Shores Town Council meeting.

The awards were in recognition of those volunteers who have given five to 60 or more years of continuous service in an organization. Originally, the volunteers were recognized in June by the Honourable Michael Chan, Provincial Minister of Citizenship and Immigration but, due to numerous other events and activities in the community, most of the volunteers were unable to attend the awards ceremony held in Owen Sound.

Therefore, the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce and Town Council presented the awards Monday to the volunteers in recognition of their commitment of time and energies to many events, including the annual Port Elgin Pumpkinfest festival.
