United Church Celebrates 100 Years with Choir Reunion

Southampton United Church is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the church building and everyone who is, or has been, a member of the Junior or Senior choirs is invited to attend this auspicious occasion.

There will be a rehearsal and reunion on Saturday, October 25th at the church followed by a time of fellowship, where former and present members can catch up, enjoy looking at old photos and reminisce.

Sunday morning's special service, October 26th at 11:00 a.m., will also feature the Reverend Fred Jackson, who was minister at Southampton United  from 1978 - 1990.

One hundred years is a long time but, surprisingly, there are still members who live in Southampton.  Although, many have been contacted, there are always some who are missed, but not forgotten, for a variety of reasons such as a change of address.

If you know of anyone -- whether you think it's obvious or not -- please pass on the invitation for them to take part in this very special occasion.  All former Junior Choir members are welcome to join with the Senior Choir for the rehearsal as well as being part of the special 100th Anniversary Choir.

The entire event schedule will be published on 'Facebook' and, of course, here on the Saugeen Times and the Kincardine Times.

For anyone who wasn't a member of either choir, come and enjoy the music.  The service on Sunday, October 26th begins at 11:00 a.m. but the Men's Choir will be performing the prelude at 10:45.

Everyone is welcome - former Senior & Junior Choir Members/Current Choir Members/Organists/Supply Organists/Junior Choir Directors/Junior Choir accompanists, adherents and friends!

If you have any questions, call John or Marjorie Tite at 519-422-1209, or e-mailquick.print@bmts.com.

This event will never happen again and we are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible and, for those who weren't part of the musical program, we look forward to having as many as possible join in the 100th Anniversary congregation!
