Enjoying those golden years at Trillium Court

Making senior citizens feel at home in a compassionate and caring atmosphere is the goal at Trillium Court Seniors' Community, located at 550 Philip Place, Kincardine.

The accredited facility opened in July, 1990, and features 25 leisure-living apartments, 35 lodge rooms and 40 long-term care beds. It was initially owned by Versa Care and has gone through several ownership changes over the year. Now, it is operated by Revera Living.

All the programs and services, and the care provided, are built around the residents. They are treated with dignity and respect in keeping with the philosophy of maintaining a home-like, warm and welcoming environment.
Residents are encouraged to continue pursuing life-long goals and interests which provide them with a quality living experience. The 85 staff who work at Trillium Court recognize that the residents do not live at the employees' place of work, but the staff works in the residents' home.

Among the services available at Trillium Court are a Coffee Shop, hair salon, laundry, private dining room on the second floor for family gatherings, lounge area, dining room for residents of the apartments and the lodge, and the atrium where special events are held, such as concerts, church services, Christmas bazaars, and much more. Program director Lesley MacGregor keeps things hopping, with a variety of interesting and exciting activities.

Residents are encouraged to furnish their room with such things as a bed, night-table, dresser and easy chair, and decorate with as many personal touches as possible - for example, family photos, a display cabinet for a favourite collection, or a picture they want to look at time and time again. Each room in long-term care comes furnished with a bed, but the rooms in the lodge and the apartments are not furnished
