Township council cost $83,000 last year

The figures have been released and Huron-Kinloss council cost its ratepayers a total of $83,159.60 in 2008, down slightly from 2007.

Mayor Mitch Twolan received a total of $15,829.42, including $14,032.66 in salary and per diems, $1,703.76 for travel, and $93 for meals.

Deputy mayor Wilfred Gamble was paid $13,574.49, including $12,561.56 for salary and per diems, $862.93 for travel, and $150 for meals.

Councillor Lillian Abbott received $10,178, including $9,228.20 in salary and per diems, and $949.80 for travel.

Councillor Anne Eadie was paid $13,311.82, including $11,123.78 in salary and per diems, $1,527.28 for travel, $510.76 for accommodation, and $150 for meals.

Councillor Jeff Elliott received $11,410.07, including $10,344.17 for salary and per diems, $915.90 for travel, and $150 for meals.

Councillor Jim Hanna was paid $6,428.40, including $5,501.10 in salary and per diems, $777.30 for travel, and $150 for meals.

Councillor Don Murray received $12,427.40, including $11,433.82 in salary and per diems, $843.58 for travel, and $150 for meals.

Eadie was paid $2,593.01 by the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, as a director, including $1,400 in salary and per diems, and $1,193.01 for travel.

Gamble received $484 from the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, as a director, which was for salary and per diems.
