Pumpkinfest is only 53 days away and the event's Coordinator, Lisa
Irwin, presented an update to Town Council at Monday night's meeting.
According to Irwin, the group again received a Celebrate Ontario Grant
through Ontario Tourism to help enhance the festival in order to raise
attendance. The group received $63,750 which will be used to create
three new areas of interest at the festival in addition to launching a
tourism contest.
Patche's Pumpkin Patch will be an 'education based' area that will teach
through interaction how the giant vegetables are grown. Petal's
Entertainment Area will feature a new stage for Clown College on
Saturday and Snoopy & Friends on Sunday as a complement to the Bruce
Telecom Harvst entertainment stage. Third is theTwins Game Zone in the
Culring Club where new games hae been obtained for children ages six to
12. It is anticipated that, in the future, the entire Curling Club will
be become the Game Zone.
