With only two months to the Tiverton Reunion, the committee has yet to hire security for the event.
And since half of the committee quit at the June 3 Kincardine council meeting, a proposal to fast-track quotations to hire a security company were deferred.

The committee had included $40,000 in the budget for security at the reunion which runs July 31 to Aug. 3 and had been working to get a company through the formal quotations process required by the municipality. However, given the tight timeline, the committee now wants to go with informal quotations which are also half the price of formal quotations which must be advertised.

Staff had recommended council approve the request to procure the security services for the Tiverton Reunion under the informal request for quotations method, but due to the circumstances with the reunion committee, the issue was deferred.
