Congratulations to the committee that worked so hard on St. Andrews Park. Saturday was the opening day. Special thanks to committee member Lisa Robertson-Taylor, volunteer Laurie Convay, and recreation director Karen Kieffer who were all out on Friday night pulling weeds and getting it ready for show time. A few birthdays this week: Don Craig celebrates 80 wonderful years, Kelly Brown (who is not that far behind him) at 45, and my lovely niece, Brittany Broderick, celebrates 22 years young. Best wishes to Gord, Heather and Jesse Roppel as they moved into their new house in Underwood last week. Tiverton Communities in Bloom will be hosting an information meeting on Oct. 8 at the Tiverton Lions Hall at 7:30 p.m. All current and new volunteers must attend. We will be discussing the future of Tiverton CIB and the possibility of losing flowerbeds due to the lack of volunteers. For more information, contact Laurie Convay. The Tiverton Agricultural Society appreciates all the people who showed up Monday night to help clean up the riding ring behind the new arena. There were about 22 or 23 men, women and children with rakes, pails, wheelbarrows and tractors. With that many people it was cleaned up in no time and ready for the Saddle Horse Show at the fair. Tiverton Baptist Church Kids Club resumes on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. for children, ages four to 12. Come on out for games, snacks, Bible stories and lots of fun. For more information, contact Pastor Rob at 396-3678. 21/09/2009 09:23 PM |
Jason Convay parks his tractor and wagon in front of the Lions Hall flower bed that he and his family look after. Maintaining a flower bed takes very little time and you can make it as much fun as Jason does!
This Tiverton Fall Fair bale display, located on Highway 21 just south of Tiverton, won the family of Jamie and Laurie Convay third prize |
