Bale displays are popping up everywhere and we all know what that means - the fall fair is on its way. Start getting your float ready for the parade and book your babysitter for the dance on Saturday night.

The Ambassador Committee is looking for contestants. The competition is on Oct. 2 and if you are interested in participating, please call Heather at 519-368-7518 as soon as possible.

CNIB canvass

The Lions are looking for volunteers to help with their canvassing for the CNIB in October. If you think you could help in an area, please give Ron Manto a call at 519-368-5386.

Tiverton Baptist Church

Kids Club resumes on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. for all children ages four to 12. Come on out for games, snacks, Bible stories and lots of fun. For more information, call Pastor Rob at 519-396-3678.

Yoga Classes

Laurie Schell, a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, will be offering yoga classes suitable for all levels in a non-competitive, safe setting. People new to yoga are welcome. For more information, call 519-368-4109 or E-mail: glschell@bmts.com.

Mushball Tournament

The Mushball Tournament over the weekend had three divisions: champions for the A division were the Bad Habits beating out Family Ties, 9-2; B division champs were the Box Pounders beating out the Craigs, 12-3; and the C division champs were the Buzzards beating the Convicts, 16-3. The Ladies Ball League was responsible for the successful tournament and the overall good times.

Tiverton Friendly Folk

The Tiverton Friendly Folk will be hosting euchre at the Lions Hall at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22.

Three teams from Tiverton, representing District 27 (Bruce and Grey counties), travelled to Chatham Sept. 3 to participate in the Southwestern Seniors Games. In six-handed Pepper, the team of Kay Freer, Gary Freer and Faith Fidler placed second while the team of Dorothy Lamont, Fraser Lamont and Marjorie Young was third. Carmel Pinkerton and Don Fidler were fourth in four- handed bid euchre. All enjoyed the day playing cards, plus the evening buffet and entertainment.
