Earth Day

Did you know that one tree can remove 26 pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere annually? This is equivalent to the amount of car emissions produced if a car were driven 17,600 kilometres (information from www.earthday.ca). In the spirit of Earth Day, and Tiverton’s 130th the Tiverton Reunion Committee and OPG would like to provide you with a White Spruce to plant in your yard! First come, first serve; pick up Saturday, April 18, at the Clock in downtown Tiverton. To reserve your tree, call Amber at 519-368-5365.

District 10 Agricultural Society Meeting

The Kincardine and Tiverton Agricultural Societies are hosting the District 10 Meeting on April 18, at the Tiverton Community Centre. There are approximately 25 societies in this district. We expect 120 members to attend, along with their Ambassadors. This year the question to be asked of every group will be "what does your society do to conserve energy at your Fair". But apart from that, we have decided to go as GREEN as possible. We will be using all biodegradable products i.e. coffee cups, stir sticks, napkins, garbage bags, goodie bags that are handed out to all members upon registration etc. All the garbage will be taken away to be composted. The table decorations planned are fresh flowers or twigs (forsythia, pussywillow, daffodils etc.). Interested in becoming a member of either Agricultural Society, phone Doreen at 519-368-7768 or Betty Jean at 519-396-3393.

Keep it in the Kincardine Times, call 519-368-7518 or email dhconvay@tnt21.com.
