Congratulations to 'Bad' Bill Young as he had a double whammy on Friday. Bill retired from Bruce Power, had a great party with his work friends at the King’s Pearl and then when he got home, family and friends were gathered for a surprise 50th birthday party. Don’t worry Bill, my sister, Christi, and Kelly Brown will soon be keeping you company in the 50 Club!

Delaney Evans, Lori Ogilvie and Eartha Phorson, all of Kincardine, and Julia Convay spent the night at Olivia Convay’s house to help her celebrate her 12th birthday.
The Tiverton Old Boys and Girls Reunion Committee is holding a contest to paint 10 garbage cans in reunion colors: red, black, white and gold, with a local theme. The cans must be painted by Friday, July 3, and will be judged after that. First prize is $100, second prize $75, third prize $50. These painted cans will be placed in prominent locations in the village over the reunion weekend. Cans, paint and brushes will be provided – first come, first served. If you or your group are interested in entering this contest, please contact Patti Hutton at 519-368-5561 or E-mail huttonfarms@bmts.com.

Agricultural Society

Euchre results from Monday night were: High Score, Bud Collins; Low Score, Margaret McConnell; and the Most Lone Hands, Gordon White. Monday, June 1 was the last euchre of the season held by the Tiverton Agricultural Society. We appreciate everyone who attended our euchres this past year, and those who donated and made the sandwiches for the lunches. A special thank you to Doreen Soloduka for phoning, Mary Young for hosting the euchres, and the Presbyterian Church for allowing us to use the church basement. Have a great summer and see you in the fall.

Communities in Bloom

The Communities in Bloom planting day will be this Saturday, June 6. You can pick up your flowers at Laurie Convay’s home or give her a call, at 519-368-7980, to make arrangements. They are planting the highway beds on Friday, June 5, starting at 4 p.m., and could use some extra help if anyone would like to come or knows of anyone wanting to help. What they don't finish on Friday will be done Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m. Just a reminder to RSVP about the volunteer appreciation - contact your volunteers about this to keep them in the loop and a special thanks to everyone for helping out.
