Titan and His Handler Constable Andy Stewart

The recent fundraiser held by Saugeen Shores Police in support of their canine officer, Titan, was considered a resounding success.

The Bike Auction netted approximately $1,460, while the Association BBQ sale of burgers, hot dogs and T-shirts, along with donations, brought in a final profit of $396.24.Our total (after expenses-auctioneer) was approx $1,460.

Titan continues to improve on a daily basis although he does not seem to be enjoying the new physiotherapy regime with his handler, Andy Stewart.  Titan's mobility on three legs is amazing but the battle still continues between Titan and Andy about the use of his injured leg.  When tracking however, Titan has his nose to the ground and, therefore, is forced to use all four legs and is all business.  Titan is a dedicated member of the force and, quite literally, lives to be at work.  His handler, Andy Stewart, is hoping to bring him back doing "light duties" within a couple of weeks.   So be prepared to see that K9 car out and about in the near future!
