Funeral Director, Heather Kiteley, explains the intricacies of funeral planning

A recent seminar hosted by Eagleson Funeral Home and featuring guest speakers showed that death is not a simple ending in today's environment of taxes and estate laws.

Port Elgin Meridian Credit Union Manager, Eriz Zorzi set out the many laws pertaining to estates and also the recent changes that have take place. "There are many options available when it comes to estate planning," she said, "many of which will reduce the tax burden to those left behind."

In addition, Funeral Director, Heather Kiteley, also spoke about the many benefits of having pre-paid funeral arrangements. "Funeral costs are escalating every day," she pointed out. "By initiating a pre-paid plan, the cost is fixed and can be paid over time. There are so many options available and people really should sit down with a reputable funeral director who can help figure things out."

The Saugeen Times and Kincardine Times will be running a series of articles on funeral and estate planning.
