Steelback Brew Master, Jayne McGillivray The New Steelback
Brewery is celebrating a victory having won two prestigious medals at
the recent Ontario Brewing Awards. The medals mark a year of success for
the local Bruce County brewery. “It has been a incredible year,” says Jon Sherman, CEO and Owner of the new Steelback, who took over the brewery in May 2008. “Our strategy has always been to focus on the beer, and present it in a way that honours our local heritage, and reflects our Canadian roots. We are proud of the people who helped us in our year-long journey. It sure is great to be recognized with these medals.” In one year, the new Steelback Brewery has had a remarkable turn-around due, in large part, to introducing new ownership and senior management with a commitment to producing quality craft beer, proper packaging with an emphasis on local heritage, and a realistic marketing strategy that highlights the unique pricing strategy – premium product at everyday domestic prices. In celebration of its first year as a new company, Steelback has launched to licensees its Steelback Red Maple Honey Beer, sourcing local Bruce County Maple Syrup. “We are proudly owned and operated in Canada,” says Ian MacDonald, President, Steelback Brewery. “Our Red Maple honours our community and our country, and marks the first new beer with the new Steelback. And its award-winning, a honour among many in our first year in business.” 11/06/2009 09:54 PM |
Steelback wins medals & recognition In one year, the new Steelback has become a member of the Ontario Craft Brewers, won the Sobey’s Business of the Year Award in Kincardine, became one of the top selling brands of beer in Bruce County, and grown its licensee business in all parts of the Province. Steelback Brewery is located in Tiverton, Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron. Steelback Brewery is all about quality and integrity of product from locally-sourced natural ingredients with premium malted barley, the finest hops from Europe and North America, and a painstaking minimum 28 day fermentation process under the watchful eye of a skilled award-winning brew master, Jayne McGillivray, to produce a premium craft beer taste. Steelback beer is a premium craft beer at a regular beer price. The new packaging is rooted in tradition, where a local lighthouse figures prominently in the design. Distributed at the Steelback Retail Store, TBS, LCBO and via licensees, in under 10 months, the new Steelback has become a top selling brand in Bruce County, and has expanded its distribution throughout Ontario via a straightforward message - it's about the beer, delivered via outdoor, radio and select newspaper ads. The Steelback Brewery Retail Store is open Monday through Friday 10 AM - 4:30 PM. To learn more, visit http://www.steelbackbrewery.com.
