Southampton's 150th Anniversary (2008) final financial reports have yet to be announced.

The Chamber of Commerce staff and Board were involved in the 150th Celebration and the 150th Committee was designated a sub-committee of the Chamber in 2007. Two grants were subsequently obtained through the Chamber. One was for a staff person and the other substantial grant of approximately $96,000 was from Arts & Heritage Canada.

The Chamber Board and Staff ran the 'Heritage Tent' throughout the weekend in Southampton and the percentage earned went to buy office furniture for the Tourism Department in the Port Elgin office.

According to the recent report submitted in the President's [Chamber] 2008 Year in Review, the final financial reports have been sent. A final check from Arts & Heritage Canada has to be received before closing the books and making an official announcement.
