Southampton Rotary has had a busy summer with many successful fund raisers.

In July we held a successful Golf Tournament with great weather and lots of fun.  At the Craft Show the club hosted a whitefish dinner and donated part of the proceeds to Prance.  A perch lunch was held as part of the 150th weekend and hundreds of people enjoyed the delicious fish treat.

Andrea LaBlance created a beautiful quilt for the 150th celebration and many purchased tickets for a chance at this picture of the past. This year's Tour of Homes was also unique, in that if featured several century cottages. and four Music In The Park concerts provided a variety of music and a chance to enjoy a picnic dinner at beautiful
Rotary Perkin's Park.

The club participated in the 150th Parade with a float featuring a globe of the world with the message "Rotary Worldwide". Long time Rotarian Neil Sinclair was the honourary  Rotarian on the float. Many Rotarians helped out at the July 1st Fireworks by collecting money to help pay for the display and the Chamber
of Commerce was very appreciative of the members' efforts.

At the beginning of July the club members welcomed the new executive: President Henry Weikert takes over the helm and President Elect Bruce Waechter is ready for 2009-2010. The Board of Directors includes - Addison Ziegler, Club Services; Eric Burton, Community Services; June VanBastelaar, Vocational Services; Peter Day, International Services; Treasurer, Michael La Blance; and Secretary Jenny Amy.

Both Southampton and Port Elgin Rotary clubs will each be making a donation of $3000 to fund development of a portion of the trail at McGregor Park. This trail will eventually link up with the Rail Trail.

The Southampton Rotary Club appreciates the support of the citizens and the many local businesses of Saugeen Shores in making the club's many fund raisers so successful
