Gerry's Fries and the Long Dock Change Room, located on the Southampton beach at the foot of Beach Road, and that has long been a favourite for both residents and summer visitors, has been sold.

Previous owner, Fay Eggleston, who held a lease agreement with the Town of Saugeen Shores, has sold the business to Michael and Deanna Bahen of Port Elgin. The existing agreement, that expires April 30, 2010, will continue with the new owners.

"We're planning to keep things the same," said the Bahens. "Fay took us through some training and we plan to follow things fairly closely to what she did."

Will the name Gerry's Fries stay? According to Deanna Bahen, they are considering a change in the name but no definite plans have been made as yet.
