It was a good day to be inside at the Tiverton Fall Fair Saturday.

Overcast skies let loose with pouring rain throughout the morning, but halted in time for the parade to march down through the village at noon. Then, showers continued in the afternoon, making it a soggy day for the fair. Many of the events went ahead despite the wet weather.

The exotic petting zoo was a great attraction, with a camel, kangaroos and several other interesting pets. The antique cars, trucks and motorcycles were also on display, as were the antique tractors. People viewed a variety of chickens and ducks at the open poultry show, and the lawn and garden tractor pull was a muddy, slippery affair as entries slid their way down the track.

Those who marched in the parade were drenched by the time it began, but the Lucknow Pipe Band was properly outfitted in rain capes, and there were an abundance of umbrellas aboard the floats and above the other marchers, including the Kincardine Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders and their leaders.

Other events included the needle in a hay stack, Lions cake wheel, Clown Val E. Joy in the Lions Hall, pie dough-making demonstration, and a kiddie pedal tractor pull.

The day ended with the fall fair dance, featuring the Country 93 Video Dance Party, sponsored by Steelback.
