A PENUMBRAL ECLIPSE OF THE MOON.

This eclipse will be fully visible from Alaska and Hawaii. It will also be seen from Western & Central parts of North America as the Moon
sets. (Not for us )

The FULL MOON on the 9th February is THE SNOW MOON.
 

Since the heaviest snowfall usually falls during this month, Native Tribes of the North & East often called February's full Moon THE FULL SNOW MOON. Some Tribes also referred to this Moon as the FULL HUNGER MOON since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting difficult.
