Seven compete to be Tiverton Fair ambassador

The Tiverton Fall Fair is next weekend (Oct. 2-3) and seven teens are competing for the title of 2009 Fair Ambassador. The competition is slated for Friday night, along with an auction of the prize-winning cakes and pies at the fair.

The following are the ambassador contestants:
 


Kerri Adams, daughter of Carolyn and Dan Norman of RR 5, Kincardine, is a student at KDSS. She likes spending time with friends and family, and travelling. She plays hockey, enjoys running, has been a leader of the KDSS Link Crew (helping Grade 9 students on their first day of school), and volunteers at the Tiverton Arena. She plans to stay a fifth year in high school and then go on to university. Her sponsor is Baxter's Row Fashion.
 


Brittany Quipp is the daughter of Michael and Vicky Quipp of Tiverton. A student at KDSS, she plans to attend university and graduate with a degree in business. She enjoys reading, jogging and dancing, and plays on the local hockey team. Her sponsor is the Tiverton Lions Club.
 

Shelby Simmons, son of Debbie and Ron Simmons of Tiverton enjoys playing all sports, especially hockey and football. A student at SDSS in Port Elgin, he is planning a career in firefighting. His sponsor is Todd Farms.
 


Cynthia Wickert is the daughter of Allen and Melissa Wickert of Kincardine. A student at KDSS, she plans to take veterinary studies at the University of Guelph. She enjoys horseback riding, swimming and running and is involved in the student council and 4-H. Her sponsor is Ian Martin Ltd.

 Caitlin Young, daughter of Bill and Nancy Young of Tiverton enjoys hockey, four-wheeling and 4-H. A student at KDSS, she plans to go to college and become a veterinary technician. Her sponsor is the Tiverton Fire Department.
 


Cristina Young is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Young of Tiverton. A student at KDSS, she plans to attend college and study early childhood education. She enjoys hockey, four-wheeling and 4-H. Her sponsor is The King's Pearl and Pub.
 


Kelsey Young, daughter of Ken and Jeanette Young of Tiverton, enjoys horseback riding, snowboarding, and playing hockey and baseball. A student at KDSS, she plans to study criminology at university. Her sponsor is Ross Young Bus Lines.
