Mann Made Studio part of the Christmas Home Tour 2009 |

What was once a one-room schoolhouse immediately outside of Paisley has been turned into a studio and comfortable studio by Micheline Mann. Built in 1880, the building had become dilapidated and uninhabitable when Mann purchased it and completely gutted the inside and created an open concept style complete with a loft bedroom. In the spacious living room is a stone fireplace and magnificent driftwood chandelier built by John Eagleson of Southampton. Maintaining the integrity of the era, Mann salvaged the tongue and groove flooring and custom built barn sliding doors. By using the old collar ties, a faux timber effect was created that blends perfectly with Mann's vintage collectibles. Since July, 2008, Mann has been hosting a guesthouse on weekends, beginner rug hooking workshops complete with gourmet lunch, sugar cookie decorating parties and custom-tailored 'getaways'. As part of the Christmas Home Tour, Mann Made Studios is sure to be one of the most unique stops on the Tour. The Tour, a fundraiser hosted by the Saugeen Shores Chambettes and
the Tara Curling Club, will feature 11 homes throughout the area, each
uniquely decorated for the holiday season. Whether you're looking for
decorating ideas or simply enjoy the beauty that Christmas brings to the
year, this is the opportunity to see some of the most interesting homes
in the area. |
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour and are available
at the following local merchants: The proceeds from the tour will go toward the Regional Integrated-Accessible Playground to built at Jubilee Park in Southampton, the "Let's Play Campaign" and the Tara Curling Club. The Tour is this Friday and Saturday (|Nov. 20th & 21st) ... Friday 6 - 9 and all day Saturday
