Rotary Club holds fundraising event at Chippewa

Southampton Rotary Club held its annual fundraising auction Saturday night (Oct. 17) at Chippewa Golf and Country Club in Saugeen Shores.

The evening, that featured both a regular auction and silent auction, is a major fundraiser for the organization. Guest Auctioneer, Ron Luciano, who returns each year to conduct the auction, said repeatedly throughout the evening that he was amazed by the generosity of those in attendance.

All the monies raised go toward scholarships for youth and various community projects. Over the past eight years, the group has raised $116,000, including this year's event that raised $14,000. According to the group, both attendance and contributions were up over last year.

The organization, that fundraises for various local projects, will be making an announcement at Town Council meeting on Monday, October 19th about a possible working partnership with the Town of
