RIVER OF SONG

Feature

(continued)

The Paisley Concert Choir has been preparing diligently since the beginning of February for this spring’s concert season.

This season marks the ninth year for the choir. In 2001 there were 29 voices; this year we have grown to 54. They boast a particularly strong male contingent and always feature them in a 3 or 4-part tenor bass song. They have prospered under our director Linda Finlay, and  accompanist Jane Siegel. They are a community choir (no auditions), and welcome anyone from senior high school to senior citizen, who loves to sing. The choir attracts choristers from a wide area, bounded roughly by Owen Sound, Hanover, Teeswater, and Lake Huron. They practice in Knox United Church in Paisley, which has generously supported us over the years. Paisley is very fortunate to have such a fine choir.

Currently, the choristers are enjoying the selection of ballads, spirituals, and popular songs chosen for this season. They are excited about our upcoming performances. One of our themes is “river songs” which seems appropriate for Paisley, situated at the junction of two rivers.
