Sponsors' Appreciation Night held Thursday at the Museum

Museum Executive Director, Barb Ribey

To date, the newly renovated Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton has had 73,000 visitors thanks to several world-class, unusual exhibits.

According to Museum Director, Barb Ribey, "Exhibits such as the Wild and Wooly Mammoths, the Pattern Wizardry show, Paul Kane art exhibit and Earth's Climate in the Balance brought visitors in from all over the world."

Ribey was speaking at the Sponsors' Appreciation Night held Thursday at the Museum.

"I've been with the Museum for 26 years, 23 of them as Director, and we could never have reached the level of success that we have without our sponsors and partnerships.  Along with our returning sponsors for the coming year, we are also excited at the new organizations that are coming on board.  The Museum is all about relationships and partnerships that work together.  Without people, the Museum is only a building."

In 2009, the Museum will again host some unusual exhibits, including 'Dinosaurs Invade Bruce County', the 'Year of the Light' showcasing the lighthouses on the Bruce Coast, the 'Periminater Instuture' lectures, 'Ghost Walk', KidZone Children's Programming and the 'Wizardry & Wonders Summer Programs' among many others, and they are all open to sponsorship.  "Being a sponsor of a program is a way of contributing to the community," says Ribey, "and we are expect that many will come forward to do just that ... contribute to their community."
