Freda and Dave Owen of London were visiting with Bette MacLeod on the weekend and enjoyed taking in the Ripley Fair while they were here.

Weekend guests of Doug and Shirley MacDonald were Bob and Sheena Houghton, William, Alyana and Ethan of Stratford, Michigan, and Ruth Houghton of Missouri.

Earl and June Elliott spent last week taking in the Battalion 347 Reunion held at Hedley, Michigan, on Saturday. Then it was on to Houghton Lake to visit June's sister-in-law Vivian Stephen, Harvey Stanley at Sault Ste. Marie, Steven Elliott of Blind River and finally Ian Elliott at Horseshoe Valley before heading home in time for the Ripley Fall Fair.

On Sunday, Paul and Nancy Greenwood had a visit and supper with Earl and June Elliott returning home from their three-week tour of England, Ireland and France to name a few.
Sympathy to the nieces and nephews of Don Robertson, one of the Purple Grove old-timers.

Cheryl Stephenson of Michigan visited with Marie and Allen Colling and enjoyed renewing acquaintances at the fair.
Visitors at Mary Anne McCosh's for supper after the fair were Teresa and David Becker and sons; Jenn, Jer and Elijah Nahwegahbow; June and Earl Elliott; Joyce Farrell; Diane Clifford; Ruthe Patterson and Hugh Duncan.

Bruce and Kathy Aitken of Bracebridge were visiting with family and friends in the area last weekend.

Jim and Fran Farrell and Diane Clifford enjoyed a few days touring to Temiskaming for IPM 2009 at Earlton early last week. There were many folks from Bruce County at the Match and all were impressed with the displays and events there. Beautiful countryside too!

Rob and Carolyn Farrell and family of Rockwood, Carmen Farrell and Sarah Smitgens celebrated Farrell birthdays on Saturday after the fair at Jim and Fran's.
Fran and Carmen Farrell visited on Sunday with Derk Logtenberg who is in Goderich Hospital at this time.
Get well wishes to all in hospital and who are ill at this time.

Once again, Ripley held an excellent fair with a huge turnout and ended the day with the Square Dancing Tractors from Teeswater. Congratulations to all the volunteers, competitors, visitors and committees that make the Ripley Fall Fair what it is. See you again next year.
