Public Meetings on Sewer Project

There are two upcoming public meetings for anyone who is interested in, or will be affected by, the newly proposed sewer project in Southampton (Saugeen Shores).

The proposed project with a price tag of $17,600,000 for the Southampton area north of the Saugeen River, was recently approved for funding under the new Infrastructure program, initiated by governments to foster employment. Each of the Provincial and Federal levels of government will pick up the tab for one third each with the remainder to be paid by those residents who will benefit from the installation of the sewer system.

In addition, it is proposed that the roads/streets will also be 'brought up to suburb standard'.

The dates of the public meetings are June 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall and June 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Port Elgin Plex.
