Betty McKillop most recently a Travel Trade Development Officer with Tourism Hamilton joined Bruce Coast Lighthouse Partners as the new Project Coordinator and plans to expand the marketing and promotion of the Lighthouses along the Bruce Coast to increase awareness, visitation and tourism spending. With nearly 25 years of experience as a professional tourism marketer, Betty envisions the Bruce Coast Lighthouse Partners as collectively promoting and marketing the marine heritage sites of the Bruce County. “We plan to drive the Bruce Coast Lighthouse’s to the next level,” says McKillop, “by creating a brand, marketing and promotional tool to develop the “Lighthouse Destination in Great Lakes Canada”. Developing a sales team, comfortable with domestic and international markets focusing on individual activities and experiences as well as prepackaged travel products that will be available. With knowledge of consumer, travel trade, corporate and educational markets this could not be a better fit for my skill set”. “Betty’s global work experience, which includes International markets as well as extensive work in the United States and Canada will prove invaluable to the Bruce Coast Lighthouse Partners. Her knowledge and leadership will help us to develop and drive visitation to the Lighthouse Partner sites.” 06/02/2009 07:00 PM
