Volunteers with the Royal Canadian Legion are canvassing throughout Kincardine, accepting donations for the Poppy-Remembrance campaign.

Here are some of the ways that money is used to improve life for people in our community:

*Providing assistance to needy ex-service members and their families;
*Purchasing medical equipment and appliances for community health facilities;
*Paying for medical research and training;
*Building affordable housing for veterans and senior citizens;
*Paying for bursaries for needy students;
*And providing support services to senior citizens (meals-on-wheels, drop-in centres, etc.).

When the volunteer comes to your door, give generously, and wear your poppy proudly.

On Nov. 11, attend the Remembrance Day service in your community. Services will be held locally in Kincardine, Ripley and Tiverton.

Lest we forget.
