We introduce our friend Philsak first for your edification and then for
his viewpoint, but make sure you look at the picture he snapped last
fall. He'd be terribly hurt if his long history overshadowed his
present work. He will be a regular contributor, we hope. We
have him under long term contract. As you will see over time, he has a very strange persona and is
always waiting outside some event, trial or meeting, but never seems to
be a part of it. He wanders into the United States and abroad often and can bring
us his views far from home. He has met all the potentates and
crowned heads so he can bring us both current news and the perspective
of his long and storied past.
His personality will be revealed to you over time. When we can
get pictures of him, we will pass them along to you. He's very old
and does not like to be photographed so all our pictures of him so far
have been from the rear. That may continue He sent us by
post (old fashioned) the
picture taken outside a planning meeting as he is presently on some sort of a mission to Central
America and thought we might print it. Please scroll down to view
it. We saw no harm in doing
that. We think it's just a holiday, he's on, but he makes much of
his 'missions', so stay tuned.

Philsak is back!!!!
Our friend Philsak took his annual physical on the 25th of
February, his birthday. He got all manner of tests by one
of the new doctors in the Saugeen Area. He was not
familiar with his family or background.
Philsak does very well on vision tests and the young doctor
was amazed. His vision out of his left eye is skewed, but is
razor sharp out of his right eye.
We wish to congratulate Philsak on his 115th birthday and his
114th annual physical. He has been examined by the great
doctors of the world including Sigmund Freud and the Mayo
Brothers. |
|
Philsak and his brother
were born as mirror twins. That is, what the surviving
twin had on the right side, the diseased brother had on the
left. ( The 'Left Philsak' died in 1927 under tragic
circumstances... more about that later)
Because of their
unusual appearance and deportment, they attracted world-wide
attention. In fact they were called to the far east by the
Czar Nicholas II to mediate in the Russo-Japanese war and then
to the United States. Why? The Czar and Czarina
thought that such twins had some magical connection with the
Royal Double Eagle Crest shown below.

Russian Twin
Eagle Symbol
As later events would
show, the Czar and Czarina's superstition and concentration on
mystical signs was in part responsible for the great Russian
Revolution. We all remember Rasputin, but the Philsak
Twins have faded from memory:
Philsak and his twin
brother, then 12 years old, journeyed first to
Manchuria and then to Portsmouth NH to help in the negotiations.
The Philsaks waited patiently and to no avail to
intercede.
U.S.
President
Theodore Roosevelt
barged in to mediate and earned a
Nobel Peace Prize
for his effort.
Sergius Witte
led the Russian delegation and
Baron Komura,
a graduate of
Harvard,
led the Japanese Delegation.
The
Treaty of Portsmouth
was signed on
5 September
1905 in
the U.S. naval facility in
Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Witte became Russian Prime Minister the same year. The
Philsak brothers returned to Southampton.
