Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 - What banged?
Dr. Neil Turok, a world-renowned scientist,
examines the conventional view that the universe somehow burst into
existence full of "inflationary" energy and contrasts that
with the new view in which "the bang" is a far more normal event,
which occurred in a pre-existing universe. Dr. Turok was recently
appointed Executive Director of the Perimeter Institute, effective
Oct. 1. Professor Stephen Hawking, the internationally acclaimed
scientist at the University of Cambridge and a close colleague of
Dr. Turok, says, "he has been a colleague of mine for number of
years and I have been very impressed by his insight and
originality. The combination of Neil and PI is brilliant and holds
great promise for the future"
