Heritage(continued) |
|
Lambertus DeGraaf and Bob Bullen Bob Bullen began the presentation in a unique way. He had the Paddy Walker House tell its own story from the beginning to now. Bob a former English Teacher wrote the script and brought history to the audience at the Chantry Island Institute Lecture Series Tuesday night at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre. 03/06/2009 12:49 AM |
After Bob finished his story Burt DeGraaf the Curator of the Bruce County landmark took the audience on a visual guided tour of the Walker House as it exists in its restored state. Every aspect of it was covered from the entrance to each room lovingly restored. The owners, construction and old pictures told the story. The Kincardine Landmark now serves as a living museum of the history of Kincardine and the surrounding area. The Walker House is open daily for summer seven days a week. You can also rent some of the rooms for meetings, events and arts and crafts projects. Don't miss a trip to this wonderful spot. Within 5 minutes walking distance of downtown Kincardine and looking out on the historic harbour and Lighthouse, the Walker House is time travel machine |
