Monarchs are fewer this year and slow to return. Their numbers have dropped sharply because of droughts through the southwest United States as they migrated out of Mexico northward. Also, the cold wet weather of Ontario this year has resulted in a fungal disease that has attacked them. Every one spotted should be treasured. These two were seen Sunday in Southampton. Anne McArthur was laid to rest today. The funeral was at St. Patrick's in Southampton. All her family and friends gathered at the family home at the foot of Landsdowne after the funeral for a celebration of her life.
