After 5:30 pm taken by G. R. Schuett Feb 6, 2009 The snow banks are very high now. It's a chore to perch the blue box up on top of them and the people who pick them up have difficulty too. The Town does a good job in very difficult conditions. Feb 5, 2009

January 15th, 2009 The ebb and flow of activities in the Saugeen area is interesting. Just before Christmas the Event Planner was really active. It never gets full because of the technology. It's now getting more active as the new year gains momentum. For example, people are already asking the dates of the Annual Sisters Warehouse Sale, which is August 28, 29 and 30, 2009. Very neat to be able to put that event on 8 months in advance, eh?

Fran Plante took this photo of the neighbourhood fox as it searched for food at her home on the North Shore. The fox has been seen a number of times in a two-block area along the lakeshore. It appears to be the same fox that readers of Saugeen Times saw in that excellent photo taken by Bob Cartwright last week. (John Weichel) Ed: See Jan 9 below for the Fox.

The photo was taken from Jim and Grace Currie’s front yard on
Carlisle Street on January 16, 2009. Editors Note: You are correct, the sunrise can be very beautiful. Out on the lake looking landward at sunrise is special. As a certain time of the year the sun rises up the Saugeen River and if you are lucky enough to be out early, it is inspiring. Thanks for the photo. Feb 14, 2009
