Scarlett LaBlance of Southampton found her perfect match Sunday while watching her father, uncle and grandpa play in the mens' slow-pitch tournament.

She and 'Louie' the Pomeranian hit it off at first meeting ... could it have something to do with the hair colour?

As pesiticide use declines, we will need these 'Little Brown Bats'.  They eat a lot of insects.  There is a move afoot to produce a lot of Bat Houses for them.  More on that later.

At 6ft. 4in., Southampton resident 'Brand' shows the Scotch thistle in his yard. It's been left to protect the family of rabbits who live behind it under the Blue Spruce.

Burt Oldershaw Olympian medal winner in 48, 52 and 56 leaves a legacy.  His grandson is in Beijing.  Burt died last year after a lifetime of doing the impossible.  He helped a lot on Chantry Island in his 80s with a smile and lots of endurance.

The 150th is over (we think?) and the crowded Event Calendar has been cleaned up.  There were so many events going on that we were hard pressed to cover them all.  It looked like everyone had a good time.  I'm sure the 150th organizers are happy with the weather and turnout that they had

Here's your saftey belt Casy

He's only 8 months old and already he's travelled over 1,000 kilometres.

Casey, the Sheltey, and his owners 'Kristina & Richard', of Ottawa have been seeing Ontario on a motocycle.  For the past week, they were camping in MacGregor Point National Park.

Casey wears a padded body safety harness and has his own bed in the 'tag-a-long'.  "When we slow down through a town," says Kristina, "Casey will sit up and and look around but other than that he's happy just to lay in his bed."

Because of all the activity for the 150th, the Saugeen Times is loaded with great pictures.  Our favourites are from the closing at Fairy Lake.  The night shots are  spectacular.

The parade was the highlight of the day for the 150th.  The horses stole the show hands down.  What was that spotted horse?  What a beauty.  Second to the horses were the two bands.  Their music was great.  The old fire engines were for sure next in line followed by some good floats.

I could have done with another turn of the horses and the bands.
