The Olympic Torch, now on Canadian soil, is only two months away
from Bruce County and communities along its route are already
organizing a variety of activities surrounding its
once-in-a-lifetime arrival.
In two of the communities in Saugeen Shores, Port Elgin and
Southampton, the public libraries want to involve the children of
the area in a special way that will be meaningful and memorable to
them.
The libraries are invited children over five to come in to the two
libraries and actually make their own 'torches' to greet the relay
runners.
The workshop will take place Saturday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to
12 noon but pre-registration is required. A minimal fee of $5.00
will cover the cost of materials which will be supplied.
Contact Elizabeth Carter and Nancy Kuhl at the Port Elgin library
