Your publication has been a great supporter of the Saugeen Shores Police K-9 program and I just want to give you a quick up-date about our latest fund raising effort Time: Saturday, 18th October 2008 at 12 noon Place: Saugeen Shores Dog Park At noon, after the Police Auction we'll be having a BBQ for the two legged participants while registration takes place. There will also be representatives from dog friendly businesses selling their products. There is no registration fee, but we are asking that participants try and get some pledges. A pledge of $10 or more will get you a special "Police K-9" bandana for your dog and a tax receipt from the Town of Saugeen Shores. The walk will start after all registrations are complete and will go to either the 10th concession (for those less energetic dogs) or to Hi-Berry Farms. There will be refreshments at both the 10th and Hi-Berry Farms (four legged participants only). 13/01/2009 04:24 PM |
After everyone has returned to the Dog Park, there will be a demonstration by a Niagara Regional Police Officer and his K-9 partner. It just so happens that this particular Police Service Dog is a brother to our now retired one, Titan. This will also be the first opportunity for the Community to see Titan's possible successor. Pc Andy Stewart has recently had two dogs on trial and one seems to be really responding well to initial training. "Aggro", a 14 month old German Shepard, will have his first public appearance and we're all really keen to see what the Community thinks of him. He has already endeared himself to the members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service by his goofy antics and we're hoping that he'll make the grade. I'll certainly be there with my two "wanna be" K-9's, Wesson (as in Smith &Wesson) and Mowkie, and am looking forward to nice weather (!) and a great turn-out Tracey Smith Constable #19 Saugeen Shores Police Service
