Kincardine council is one step closer to construction of the Kincardine Community Medical Clinic addition.

In committee-of-the-whole May 13, council approved the site plan for the 587-square-metre, single-storey expansion to the existing clinic. Tenders for the project close June 17 at 1 p.m.

*An open house into the closure of the Ward 1 (former Town of Kincardine) landfill site and upgrades to the Ward 2 (former Township of Kincardine) landfill will be held May 30 at the municipal administration centre, 9 a.m. to noon. The municipality will have flyers available at the three landfill sites, indicating the proposed changes.

*Councillor Guy Anderson reported that the Grey-Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Association is planning to put its office in Ripley, and hire a local person as a co-ordinator. If anyone is interested, contact Anderson at 519-396-3529 or check the association website at
