McNally says One More Day for the Water Intake

Coming in at the end of the day

According to the McNally work crew, that has been installing the new water intake off the shore of Southampton, "The final work should only take one more day. We put in the chlorine line today and the fish habitats are done. Inspectors have to come in yet and do an actual underwater video of the work. We probably could have finished today (Wed.) but the wind changed direction and we had to come in."

The project has been ongoing throughout the summer months with crews working 24 hours a day. According to previous accounts by Dave Burnside of Saugeen Shores Town engineering, the line was expected to be functioning sometime in November. The entire project has been weather dependant and the crew today said it has been extremely cold out on the water during the past week.
