Janet Shewfelt of Kincardine has been a dedicated volunteer all her
life and has now received recognition for her hard work helping out at
Trillium Court where she lives.
The Ontario Long Term Care Association's annual Circle of Excellence
award was presented to Shewfelt during a volunteer recognition luncheon
in November. "It recognizes her significant volunteer contribution to
Trillium Court and the residents there," said program manager Lesley
MacGregor.
"Janet is a hard worker and does a lot of volunteering around here,"
MacGregor said. "She takes care of the plants, inside and outside. She
is on several committees, she helps with baking and does sewing, she
feeds the birds and helps out in the coffee shop. And she does shopping
for some of the other residents. She is very deserving of this award."
Shewfelt was reluctant to stand in the spotlight, but said she
appreciates the recognition and enjoys helping out when she can. (next
