Barbara Ribey (R), Bruce County Museum Curator and new Community Partner, Delores Sullivan of Sisters on Huron in Southampton

The Saugeen Shores Firefighters and new community partner, Delores Sullivan, Owner of Sisters On Huron, turned out Tuesday to kick off the 16th Annual Lobster Fest hosted by Barbara Ribey, Director and Curator of the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre.
Sullivan presented a cheque for $1,000 to help toward advertising and public relations for the event.
"The idea began about five years ago," says Sullivan. "I wanted to do something for the fund-raising event and I thought what better way than to help out than with the advertising. So I approached Barbara and ... here we are today!"

The Fest takes place July 11th at North Shore Park in Port Elgin and features live entertainment and a Surf 'n' Turf menu in a lakeside setting. The lobsters are flown in and arrive at Southampton Foodland the day before the event for the ultimate in freshness.

Seating is limited and the event has always been sold out in the past. There are two sittings, one at 5:00 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m.

The monies raised from this popular lakeside event go toward future Museum exhibits and development.
