The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre's annual fundraiser 'lobsterfest'
attracted approximately 500 people in two sittings on Saturday.
While surf and turf (lobster and steak) is always popular, it was
clear that the majority were there for the fresh lobster as diners
donned bibs before dipping chunks of lobster into melted butter.
Normally held at Northshore Park in Port Elgin, this year's
organizer, Museum Business Manage Kathy McGirr, who had been keeping
an eye on possible severe weather, opted to hold the event at The
Plex. Given the storm cells that moved through the area, it was a
wise decision on McGirr's part.
Entertainment by the Howlin Dogs Band rounded out the evening. (next column)
