Live Performance By Local Actors on July 12th Shines The Light On Marine Heritage and the Life of A Lighthouse Keeper.

(Southampton, ON) Some see a lighthouse as an object of curiosity, a relic of a bygone era. But for a small group of coastside families, it was home. The public is invited to a performance of ‘A Day in the Life’ featuring the day in the life of a lighthouse keeper on Sunday, July 12th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre.  This performance series is based on actual characters researched from personal papers, county documents and materials donated to the Bruce County Archives.

This is the 3rd performance in a series of live performances created for the “Day In The Life…” program.  Costumed interpreters bring Bruce County’s history to life with a day in the life themed performance series featuring stories, readings and re-enactments. Local residents Larry and Julie Cardiff wrote this script.  Great entertainment for all ages!  General Admission applies for these performances.

The Port Elgin & District Lions Club is sponsoring this multi-media – multi-sensory performance series featuring local performers.

Dates of the performances planned for this in this series are: July 12 – Lighthouse Keeper,

August 9 – Police; September 6 – Train Engineer; October 4 – Logging – Greenock Swamp – Cargill; November 8 – Quartermaster - Captain Todd, Allan Peter
