The "New Year" is just around the corner and change is in the air. As New Year's resolutions are being formulated it's apparent that people are beginning to move beyond imagined boundaries of citizenship and see themselves as global citizens with a shared responsibility for each other and our planet.

"Peace on Earth" is taking on a whole new meaning. A wise man once said that there will be no peace on earth until every person is fed. Why not make this our goal for the upcoming year?

Even though it is a proven fact that the world produces enough food to feed everyone, over 800 million people remain chronically hungry. In fact, it is estimated that somewhere in the world a child dies of hunger every five seconds! That's a statistic that is very painful to acknowledge, but here is the good news.

If you have access to a computer you can help feed the poor of the world with the simple click of your mouse. By visiting www.thehungersite.com you have the opportunity to give over one cup of free food to someone in need every day. It's as simple as clicking on the gold button on the web site to activate site sponsors to fund food for the poor. There is no cost to you!

One hundred percent of sponsor funding is given to two non-profit organizations that work in over forty countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America, and with your help they reach out to 35 million people in need each year.

(continued)

In 2009 we will each have 365 opportunities to help feed the hungry since one click is allowed each day. You can even have the site send you an e-mail with a reminder to click, or better yet, set "The Hunger Site" as your homepage. I look at it as inviting a hungry child to breakfast. What better way to start the day?

If you have children in the house why not have some fun with this opportunity? Have the children decide on a name for their new breakfast friend and remind them to "click" each morning and help feed Jacob or Maya. Children often feel powerless and overwhelmed by world issues, but here is the perfect opportunity to empower your children and help them to realize that they really can make a difference in the world.

Every small gesture counts! If you feel good about your daily click at The Hunger Site, then why not share that feeling with friends and family by recommending the web site? Let's see how many cups of food we can generate in the New Year! We may not be able to feed the entire world's population by clicking, but by making our simple actions extraordinary ones in 2009 we will be creating significant ripples of hope and truly be one step closer to "Peace on Earth". Happy clicking at
