Claybar Contracting Inc. has been awarded the contract to install a self-serve fuelling system at the Kincardine Airport, at a cost of $44,501.19 which is within the budget estimate of $45,000.

In committee-of-the-whole April 15, Kincardine Council was told that three companies submitted quotes for the project, including Kardtech Inc. at $48,142.50, and Velcon Canada Inc. at $53,826.15. Each firm varied widely on different components of the project, with Claybar coming in with the lowest price overall.

Councillor Ron Hewitt said this will allow pilots to fuel their airplanes, themselves, using a credit card. "With this system in place, we'll get more planes coming into the airport," he said.
