Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games welcomes
Steelback Brewery as their official beer sponsor “Steelback Brewery is a great partner for the Festival, we are pleased they have accepted,” says David Nathanson, Director of Hospitality. “As our local brewery we know they understand the Festival and its importance to our region, and in turn we wish to support them, a local, proudly Canadian brewery.” To commemorate the games and their 10th anniversary, Steelback Brewery will be serving a special Kincardine Scottish Festival brew – Scottish Light. Additionally, Steelback will serve their regular lager and the Red Maple, a locally sourced maple syrup beer. “We are excited that the good people of Kincardine, and the dedicated volunteers of the Festival Games have afforded the new Steelback this distinct honor,” says Ian MacDonald, President, Steelback Brewery and member of the MacDonald clan. “We are looking forward to a great Festival. Festival Chair, David McFarlane, says “In the 10 intervening years we have become so much more than a celebration of Scottish heritage. We have become a demonstration of Kincardine itself; it’s friendliness, it’s beauty, and it’s involvement in the community.” The Kincardine Scottish Festival occurs every year, spread out across the weekend of the first Saturday in July. The Festival features Piping and Drumming Competitions, Highland Dance Competition, Heavy Events Competition, as well as a Clan Avenue, Regalia vendors, children’s events, the Clan parade and evening entertainment from Celtic performers.
