Investing in young people benefit to be held at Chippewa

"Investing in young people is an investment in the future," says Geza Kocsis, owner of Chippewa Golf & Country Club.

As a former educator, Kocsis knows first-hand how expensive it is for students to continue with an education after graduating high-school.  "These young people need all the assistance they can get," he adds.  "There are all kinds of bursaries out there but most are for $50, $75 and $100.  That's why I came up with the idea of holding an "Invest in the Future, Invest in Young People", golf tournament to raise money for scholarships.  The money will go help local students in our local high school who are going on to further education, be it academic or in the trades."

In partnership with Ian Cummings of Crabby Joe's Restaurant in Port Elgin, Chippewa will be hosting a golf tournament this weekend, Saturday, October 11th.

"We thought it appropriate to hold it on Thanksgiving weekend," explains Kocsis.  It's a time when all of us should be giving thanks to be fortunate enough to live in this community and by helping the kids who are its future."

The day will include 18 holes of golf, with a cart, lunch and a steak dinner buffet for only $50 per person plus a $10 donation toward the scholarship fund.  "This is normally a $120 event, but we only want to cover our costs on this one," says Kocsis.  "It's also a fun, four-person, best ball event.  If even if someone isn't a golfer, it's still a chance to come out and have fun, dinner and help students at the same time."
