To Celebrate Canada Day and the 150th Anniversary of the first Lighting of Chantry Island’s Imperial Tower Lighthouse a group gathered on the Lake Huron shore opposite Chantry Island to unveil two new interpretive Signs telling about the Lighthouse on Chantry Island and the Lighthouses of the Bruce Coast.

The Bruce Coast Lighthouse Partners and the sponsors of the Chantry Island Interpretive Sign were thanked for their generosity & efforts. The sponsors were:

  • The Marine Heritage Society

  •  Martin’s Home Hardware

  • The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

  • Bruce County

And especially, for their contribution and support, The Town of Saugeen Shores Council, Staff and Employees.

The several Interpretive Signs are constantly being read by visitors and residents and offer that additional background and information that make this area a little more special.
