Tree takes out hydro wires on Northline

Kincardine firefighters were called to the Northline Wednesday morning (Oct. 7) where a tree had been blown over by the high wind, and taken down a hydro line.

Fire chief Jamie MacKinnon said two trucks and six firefighters arrived at about 9:45 a.m. and remained at the scene until 12:30 p.m. South Bruce OPP were also there and officers and firefighters controlled traffic while Hydro One turned off the power and fixed the line.

MacKinnon said one line was broken off and the other required repair. There was minor damage to the poles and wires, and the tree had to be cut up, he said.
