High Tea and High Fashion Herald Spring

Mini Jacques and Nancy White

Spring has arrived and it's time to celebrate by marking April 26th as your next adventure on your calendar.

The Bruce County Museum Cultural Centre is once again holding its annual 'Hats On To Spring' High Tea on April 26th.

A catered High Tea, featuring delicious teas and decadent treats, harkens back to an earlier, more elegant time, when ladies gathered together socially for tea and conversation.

This year's event however, will offer even more. On display will be exquisite handcrafted hats from the Stratford Festival's costume design department that have been worn in numerous productions on the world-famous stage. Now, you can have the opportunity to view these creations of millinery up close.

A Heritage Fashion Presentation, with guest commentator, Wendy Tomlinson, will also be held.  She will bring fashions into the Museum for the day and will be explaining about the clothing and styles. The show will feature private collections of beautiful historical fashions from by-gone eras and a selection of hats, purses and gloves from the Museum's own extensive collection.

Put on your favourite hat and plan to attend with friends. Table bookings and reservations are available and recommended as seating is limited at either of the two sittings, 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m., by contacting Nancy White at 519-797-2080.

Guided group tours of the Museum are also available and can be arranged at the time of your booking.

Tickets for this fundraiser are $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members.
