We've had some letters from folks  who are vision impaired and we've given some tips.

Windows is full of tricks and so are the common browsers Internet Explorer and Firefox.  They have lots to offer, but not all the features are well known.

Sometimes in browsing the web we run across a page or figure that needs a boost in size.

The following comments apply to the PC, but similar techniques work for the MAC, but only to enlarge.

It's easy to do in Firefox and IE.  Just hold down the Control Key (usually labeled ctl or ctrrl on your keyboard) and turn  the wheel on your mouse.  Remember this is a button too, so don't press and hold... just 'wheel it'. 

 You'll be able to bring the font size way up or down for that matter.  Pictures and everything will get big and small.  It does not work in all programs, but does in IE and Firefox.

  The example pictures above show the difference  Try it on what you're reading now which is in 12 point font.  Everything should get bigger or smaller as you wish.
